Wizz Air History

Wizz Air was founded in September 2003 and its first flight took off on 19th May 2004 from Katowice. Today, Wizz Air has 16 operating bases in the area and is constantly expanding its network of destinations in order to provide low-cost air transport to and from Central and Eastern Europe.
Based on Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD), it flies to over 250 routes, while the Wizz Air group includes 2 operating airlines, Wizz Air Hungary (IATA code W6) and Wizz Air Ukraine (IATA code WU).
In summer 2008, Wizz Air became the first low cost carrier in Ukraine.
Being a low-cost airline, Wizz Air focuses on providing affordable flights and cost-efficient travel solutions to its passengers. In the same time, it has a young fleet, consisting solely of Airbus A320, with average age of less than 3 years.
